Clay S style roof tile flashing.
Wall and roof flashing installed in preparation for roof tile installation. When installing clay spanish style curved tile roofing, most of the flashing details can be done prior to laying the tile. This roof has a row of ice and water shield at the roof eave and two layers of thirty pound felt paper ( not actually thirty pound as the manufacturers have reduced the amount of asphalt in the product and now call it heavy duty underlayment ). Copper channel flashing runs up the brick wall four inches, out onto the roof four inches, and has a one inch raised lip to channel the water under the tile and off the roof. The counter flashing is stepped up the brick joints, secured with lead wedges, and mortered into the joints. All of this can be done before installing the field tile which reduces the amount of traffic on the finished roof.
