Lead stack flashing.

A custom fabricated lead soil vent stack flashing installed on a steep slate roof near Cleveland, Ohio.
Ready made lead flashings for steep roofs are not readily available at most roofing supply stores so this one was fabricated in the shop. The flashings that are available are either plastic or aluminum with neoprene collars that fit around the pipe. These will last about fifteen to twenty years and then need to be replaced. The flashing that was removed from this vent pipe was the original and about eighty years old before the lead wore out and needed to be replaced.
